Nordlys – Northern lights

Selv om det nå finnes vitenskapelige forklaringer på nordlyset, aurora borealis, er det noe mystisk over lyset som flakker over nattehimmelen. Tar man bilder av fenomenet, skjer det noe med brytninger gjennom linsen. Det blir enda mere farger. Bildene her er slik kameraet så nordlyset, ikke alltid hva øyet fikk med seg. 

Det er særlig spennende å jakte nordlyset hjemme rundt Oslo. Lysforurensning gjør det til en ekstra utfordring, ved siden av at det er langt sør.

Although there are now scientific explanations for the northern lights, aurora borealis, there is something mysterious about the light that flickers across the night sky. If you take pictures of the phenomenon, something happens with refractions through the lens. There will be even more colors. The pictures here are how the camera saw the northern lights, not always what the eye caught.

It is particularly exciting to hunt the northern lights at home around Oslo. Light pollution makes it an additional challenge, in addition to being far south.
