			Coast and desert Most of coastal Peru is actually desert. But the coast is nice. Before heading inland, we went to the Ballestas Islands, which the ever envious peruians call a Galapagos in miniature", but others say is the poor mans Galapagos. As such, we are either too rich, or we had a bad day. The boattrip out to the islands were nice and we did se a lot of birds, seals and sealions. But if the Galapagos not has more on offer, we save our money and remain rich... From there we headed towards the mountains, through the desert. And we got a chance to sandboard, which is the lazy man´s snowboarding.

			Pelican, a cool sight. Humboldt penguins All the seals and sea lions were quite lazy. Deserts are an experience for life, like mountains in the winter, with all shades of the same colour. We went with a sand buggy, not really our cup of tea. The hills were very steep, and quit long. The speed was at least as high as on snow. But the sand was actually softer than snow.
