FOUR WEEKS IN PERU, JULY 2013: LIMA |
||||||||||
Lima is not a terribly charming town, but has some nice areas. We stayed in Miraflores, close to the ocean. It was a shaky 20 minute ride on "collectivo" to the old town. Theese busses knit the town together. Tourist are warned against using them, probably because of traffic safety. They all have a "bouncer", screaming wher the bus is going and trying to get custommers. The old square is nice, and the change of guard in front of the presidential alace is really something. There are a couple of nice churches, almost all of them with macabre exhibits. Limas nicest museum is undoubtedly the new Larco. First of all because of the historic treasures, but a visit is not compleete without its celebrated erotic gallery. Click on one of the small pictures below to see the slideshow. |
